WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
Zira[/sub]
WHAT GENDER ARE YOU?
Lioness[/sub]
HOW OLD ARE YOU?
7 years[/sub]
WHAT PRIDE ARE YOU LOYAL TO?
The Outlanders[/sub]
WHAT IS YOUR STATUS?
Outlander leader[/sub]
WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE?
Pale, tan lioness with red eyes[/sub]
CAN YOU GO INTO MORE DETAIL PLEASE
Shape – Zira is a lioness and like most are built for hunting rather than fighting making them thin rather than strong. Her muscles are still there beneath her pelt, but she is more agile and fast that powerful and strong. Her tail is slightly longer than most other lionesses, but is not enough that most lions even do so much as give a second glance.[/sub]
Fur: Zira’s fur is, for the majority of her, a shade of pale tan. Her chest, feet and jaw are a lighter shade of cream. The fur around her eyes is distinctly darker, an earthen tone of brown. A similar brown shade coats the insides of her ears. A brown stripe begins on her head between her eyes, then travels over her head and down her spine before stopping a good distance over her shoulders, about the place were a male’s mane would have ended.
Distinctions: Zira has taken to leaving her front claws unsheathed. Whether hunting, fighting or simply walking among her own pride they are always visible. This has not only lead to them wearing away much easier than other lion’s claws but the stone she walks on has sharpened them beyond that of another lion. In her ear is a round notch, a gift from her would be mate.
WHAT ARE YOU LIKE?
Hateful: From all things done by Zira one can always look to find its source in hatred. Her initial actions against the pridelands, that caused samba to exile them, came from her hatred over Scar’s death. Her decision to raise Kopa came from her hatred against Simba and from it transform him into a killer like herself. It is so much a part of her and her heart that without it she is little more than a shell of herself.[/sub]
Cunning: Though her life is immersed in hatred it has not affected her ability to think, reason, and plan. Rarely is it that Zira makes a decision off of impulse. Instead she thinks of her idea then spends month after month, sometimes waiting years, to put it into effect. Among her plans is still to get Kovu close to Simba through his only daughter, a plan she thought of nearly two years ago.
YOUR FAMILY TREE
Previous Mate: Scar – An underpawed brown lion, recent king of the pride lands. They were only mates for a very short period of time while he was king. It did not last very long at all and ended in bloodshed between the two of them, each taking new scars from the other. Scar still remained the only thing she had actually loved at the time. His death changed everything.[/sub]
Current mate: Kifo – A dark brown lion with a black mane and second in command to Scar (or as close as one could be). After Scar’s death the both of them were banished to the outlands together. She bore two cubs by him in quick succession: Vitani and Kovu.
Cubs: Zira has birthed three cubs, Nuka, Vitani, and Kovu. All three she knows are very different cubs, and she had plans for each.
History
As a cub Ileia had little knowledge of her parents. She knew only she was born between a lioness of Pride rock and a rouge lion who called no pride his own. Her mother, Tayna, fell ill one winter and never recovered. Ileia was not permitted to see her out of fear that her illness would spread. Ileia instead spent her days as a cub learning to hunt and making unlikely friends with the hyenas.[/sub]
Just before she reached maturity King Mufasa and Prince Simba died in a tragic accident. She was old enough to understand what that meant: Scar was to become king. She didn’t mind, she liked him more than Mufasa anyway. Under his direction she proved herself many times as hunter and more. For reasons she did not understand at the time she found herself wanting him to pay attention to her, approve of her, and find uses for her. For a few nights she was able to be at his side and call herself his mate. That victory was short lived. After those few nights he turned on her in anger with claws unsheathed and left a mark in her ear. She reacted similarly and the two fought for a few moments. Afterword he did not return to her, though she waited.
Not long after Simba rose from the dead and returned to the pridelands. A great battle rose between the lions and hyenas, ending in scar’s death and Simba taking his ‘rightful’ place as king. Ileia unsheathed her claws as he roared to the sky, never to sheath them again.
She continued to live in the pride for a few days, forsaking her birth name and calling herself Zira, then left to become a rouge unable to live under the lion that killed Scar. She did not leave alone. Another lion, Kifu, joined her and together the two began to plot against Simba and search for ways to destroy his pride. They were mercyless in their first attemps: Setting fire to the savannah, killing prey wherever they found it solely so they could not have it, and leaving rotted prey and dung in their watering holes. They did not attack the pride directly, knowing the two of them stood no chance against an entire pride. But in time they gained followers, lions who either disagreed with Simba and his soft-heartedness or simply liked what she and Kifu were doing better. It was in this time that she realized what she should have long before: She was carrying a cub. She gave birth to a son she named Nuka, then continued with her plans. With a few followers behind them they attacked Pride Rock in an attempt to avenge Scar. The attack was a complete failure, Kifu’s leg was broken beyond repair, and Simba exiled them that day.
In the outlands Kifu tried to prove himself useful to the newly formed pride, only to fail and eventually be brought to death by his inability to hunt. This was not before he fathered two cubs, both in the same litter, he would never see. The first born of the two was a lioness she named Vitani, the second a male named Kovu. When Kovu was born she believed she saw Scar’s spirit sitting over him, his nose close to the cub’s head. He didn’t say anything, just watched him until he lifted his head towards the prideland and growled before dissapearing. Zira took that to be a sign that Kovu was hand picked by Scar to lead them out of the outlands and into their home where he would be king.
Several months after Kovu and Vitani’s birth she found a small lion on the banks of a river in their territory. Normally she would have left the cub, but she recognized its golden fur as Simba’s cub, Kopa. She then picked up the cub and brought him home, telling him that his parents were outsiders killed by Simba and his savage pride.
SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT
Zira raised her head and roared to the sky. The sun was high above, just beginning to sink in the west. She shook her fur free from termites and dropped down to the dry ground below. She called for reports from several of the lions in the pride. Many had managed to catch prey, though it was not enough for everyone to eat with full bellies. She ordered, as she often did, that Kovu eat first, then moved on to other reports.[/sub]
When she passed a golden lion she stopped and watched. Beside him his daughter sat, the both of them sharing a piece of prey. With a growl she stood between the two and sent Kopa off to the Pridelands to watch over Simba and his pride and return only when he had more information to give her. He hesitated, but followed his order.
With him gone she continued to walk towards a source of water, stopping over a dark puddle. The fur on her shoulders stood on end as she lapped up the water as she thought of her daughter being the mate of the son of Simba. She would sooner kill the young lioness herself than let that happen.
