Raven ran about, her little legs carrying her as fast as they could around the forest all the while her eyes were keeping track of where she was so that she wouldn't get lost. It was Raven's first time outside of the outlands and she wanted to take everything in, every sight, smell, sound and feeling that she would never have been able to experience in the outlands. Birds began to chirp, making the ever excited Raven stop in her tracks to investigate the sound. She wondered what it could be, she had never heard a bird chirping because the outlands were mostly filled with crows and vultures, anything else would be killed within a moments time. Turning her head young Raven saw a monkey hanging down from a tree and looking at her. Raven smiled her awful toothy grin and scared the monkey away, Raven's smile turned into a frown, why didn't anyone like her smile? Her mother had always told her that she wasn't supposed to have a pretty smile otherwise she would be a pridelander. Raven was always taught that the difference between a pridelander and an outlander were determined by three things the first being health, the second was personality, and the third was intellegence. Since Raven already had the personality of a pridelander and her teeth were the only part of her other than her claws and the fact that she was practically starved of food, that made her look like she was in bad shape, if she were to lose the smile that scared the other animals half to death, she would lose the right to call herself an outlander because without that poor hygeine she looked like a skinny rogue cub.
After a while of prowling around and searching for the source of the bird chirping Raven began to grow bored, she longed for a friend to share this lovely experience with, someone to laugh with and have fun with, someone who didn't care that her teeth were a nasty shade of yellow or were ground down and had lost some sharpness. Raven only cared for fun, not the things she had been taught by her mother, her father or even Zira she only wanted to be happy, to run around playing tag with other lion cubs and be just that, a cub not a future king or queen like Kiara whom young raven admired, not a killing machine like Zira but just a cub. She wanted nothing more than to feel the wind against her body as she ran throughout her pride, to feel the thrill of stalking and chasing after prey, and most of all she wanted to know that other could have the same freedom as well. She wanted to know that no other cub be they pridelander or outlander or even rogue should have to deal with the shackels of their family's choices, Raven would have been a pridelander if her mother hadn't chosen to follow scar and if her father had been smart and stayed in the pridelands and now she must wake up everyday to first class killers, murderers and villains of every kind, every game she must play involves fighting and her heart aches for the time when she was able to see her father, she doesn't know where he is now or if he is even alive at the moment, all she knows is that he's not with her anymore and it crushes her spirit sometimes. Still, Raven continues to smile hoping to realize her dreams one day and have fun while doing it. Raven turned her head, she heard a noise coming from beside herself, "I wonder what that could be?"She asked herself slipping instinctively into prowl mode to investigate.
