Chazz This Body's Left The Soul
Late morning, perhaps afternoon by now. It hardly made a difference to Chazz, who had been up since the crack of dawn. The rays of the sun roused him earlier than the rest of the pride simply because he refused to sleep in the caves. Of course, it wasn't as if he was welcome there anyway. He was too rugged, to corrupted to be a "real" Pridelander. Besides, the rest of his family had made damn well sure that he wasn't to be trusted by leaving this stupid place for Zira's pride.
But Chazz was better than his brothers, and he knew it. He had come back to the Pridelands before he had lost himself to being a complete monstrous killer.... but not one other being recognized his efforts, instead looking down on him with suspicious eyes. A low grumble erupted from his maw as he heard footsteps coming out of the caves, those belonging to Simba and his cubs. He mouthed the same words he uttered to the Princess Kiara every morning, "Don't go wandering too far! And take Timon and Pumba with you!"
Rolling his eyes, Chazz watched the Princess's decent from afar, but soon lost interest as the bone in his paws became much more interesting to gnaw on then watch a lionness he didn't particularly care for escape the clutches of her babysitters once again. It was only after he'd basically bitten a hole through the ivory that he got himself up, and walked away, heading towards the Plains where there was bound to be something more interesting than... than this old crap.

Kiara was asleep deep within the walls of pride rock. So far back that eh light could not stretch far enough in to reach her. Her slender and well formed figure was slightly curled up from the chill the night before, ever so slowly the young princess started to move, and then all together came to life. Her eye lids opened revealing browish red colored eyes, that still looked a bit drowzy from sleep but they were slowly registering everything around her. Stretching out her long legs, her claws slide out and clung to the rocky floors while she arched her back into a stretch. A soft yawn escaped her maw, and just as it finished a smile was placed upon her lips. Glancing around she had noticed that a few of her family members had gone, like her mother Nala must have left on an early hunt while her brother Koda, and her father Simba were still snoring. Kiara rolled her eyes but quietly got to her paws and tip toed towards the entrance, she tried to keep her breathing silent as she moved.
She froze as she heard a rustling behind her, her eyes closed tightly hoping it was not who she thought it was. Still she heard heavy paw steps and it could only mean one of to things, Koda had gotten up or Simba had spotted her. Opening her eyes she lifted her head over her shoulder to see Simba staring at her, a playful and yet stern look on his face as he walked over to her. She sat down on her hunches and waited, slouching her head ever so slightly as he circled her body to stand before her. Where are you off to today Kiara?
he asked, Kiara shrugged her shoulder lightly. "Not sure yet." she replied, which was the truth after all, she never really planned anything. A smile smile was on his lips as he to plopped down on his hunches. "Well be careful." the dark golden lioness rolled her eyes, "Of course daddy." she answered letting a small sigh escape her mouth before she got to her paws, and brushed against her father in farewell. He purred loudly as she did so and then she started to bound towards the path way that lead down into the pride lands. "Don't go wandering too far! And take Timon and Pumba with you!" she heard him call behind her, but Kiara speed up, quickly hopping down from rock to rock until her paws landed on the earth floor, the grass greeted her by brushing her legs. Turning she started to run before her father even had a chance to round up Timon and Pumba and set off towards the hunting grounds, maybe she could get some practicing done today, then she could prove to Simba that she was ready for her first hunt after all. Looking over her shoulder she could see the image of pride rock slowly fading away, and only then she felt at ease. Relaxing ever so slightly she turned her head around only to notice, a little to late, she might add a lion was perched down in front of her. Skidding into a halt she barely stopped herself before she could have tumbled him over. Kiara backed up a bit so not to be that close anymore. "Sorry about that." she replied sitting back on her hunches, her mind searching for a name to go with that face. She knew she saw him around sometimes but she never really talked to him before, her father made sure of that. He was so paranoid sometimes. [/blockquote] [/blockquote][/sub]

Chazz This Body's Left The Soul
Chazz let out a snort of amusement, small world this was, running into the princess again after seeing her get up, "Yeah well, make sure you don't do that again," he responded bluntly. "You should learn to watch where you're going, or you'll never make a good kill." He let out a simple huff after that, getting to his paws, ready to walk away... however, something in the corner of his eye twitched in the grass....
"Oh great, its the two Prideland jokers here to entertain me again. Get lost," he growled. Timon and Pumba, who were hidden beneath the tall grass, let out a yelp of surprise at being caught spying. "And go ahead and tell Simba I was so damn rude to his daughter. It's not like it's going to tarnish my record anymore than it already is."
"What, do you have a death wish?" Timon asked sarcastically.
Chazz lifted one eyebrow, and grinned in such a way that he was showing all of his teeth, "Do you?"
Timon took the hint, and immediately told Pumba to step on it. The two crazy companions promptly took off after that, leaving a trail of dust in their wake. Chazz rolled his eyes at them, the smile washed off his face. Really, had he been in a bad enough mood today, he would have given chase and gladly ate them, but he knew that would for sure get him kicked out. Letting out a sigh of both relief and frustration, he turned his attention back to Kiara, "What are you staring at Princess? Scared, or amused?"

Kiara stared at he lion before her with curious eyes. He seemed to take notice of her presence, a smirk appeared over his maw and Kiara tilted her head. What was he smiling about? Still, she was going to be friendly anyway because no one seemed to ever be nice to this lion. A wise king said once to leave the past behind you, and that king should remember that time and how it felt rather than still punishing him. "Yeah well, make sure you don't do that again,"
he had said to her, by his tone he wasn't being even remotely nice about it, it was simple mistake and Kiara snorted lightly and rolled her eyes. "Nice to see you to." she stated sarcastically, now knowing why no one ever stayed around him, he didn't want them around so he made this rude persona in attempt to do such. Her ears flattened and her head turned away, why even try? "You should learn to watch where you're going, or you'll never make a good kill." Kiara snapped her head back at him, her eyes narrowed, and claws flexed but she put them away instantly. "And I suppose your the expert now?" she answered, her tone blunt and irritated. More at herself because somewhere deep down she knew he was right, she was to impulsive sometimes. "Oh great, its the two Prideland jokers here to entertain me again. Get lost," Kiara's ears flicked up as she heard the grass rustling near the two, she turned and noticed Timon and Pumba whom did not seemed pleased at his tone either. Pumba, looked over at Kiara indicating for her to go with them, but she stayed put, narrowing her eyes. She listened to the lion snap at them, telling them to go ahead and tell Simba, her eyes lifted in surprise she knew her father would not take kindly to that. Didn't he know that Simba could revoke his decision in letting him stay here if he caused to much trouble? The two squabbled a bit until Chazz, that was his name, sent them running. She found a small smile appearing on her lips at the scene, and almost had a mind to praise him for a job well done in getting rid of them. "What are you staring at Princess? Scared, or amused?" Kiara's good feeling evaporated and her irriated expression came back onto her features. "Well at first I was amused, you got them to leave way faster than I've ever done, but now.." she got to her paws, she didn't feel like finishing that sentence, turning away from him she started to walk towards the hunting grounds, maybe her frustration with Chazz would make her a better huntress today, and maybe she could even land her first kill. Kopa had beaten her to it days ago, but she could still do it. To prove she could provide her pride like the other lioness's could. Everyone found Kiara to reactive to even try to teach her, for she would listen and then race into it in the end either way. She just wanted to make everyone proud, that maybe she could be a good Queen, if she was even chosen. Kiara made her way into the tall grass, there long blades almost covered her completely, though her beautiful dark golden pelt still gleamed against the browns and greens of the grass. Her claws flexed digging up dirt she would be ready this time. Her eyes darted around until she spotted a herd of caribou grazing not to far off. This could be her chance, she lowered her body to the floor hiding her body. You can do this.. she thought, taking a deep breath.[/blockquote] [/blockquote][/sub]

Chazz This Body's Left The Soul
Chazz rolled his eyes, following Kiara with his eyes as she attempted to hunt. Hello, mistake number one was obvious, she was upwind. He'd laugh at her when she failed, that much he knew.... but why not also take advantage of the situation? With a smirk, he quietly stalked away, creeping through the grass to the opposite end of the field. As soon as Kiara moved the herd would come running right toward him, and he could easy make a kill.
And so he waited, barely able to contain the mischievous laugh building up within his maw. This would be brilliant now wouldn't it? His ears perked up a the sound of hooves prodding through the dry ground, and immediately, Chazz leapt for a large one, knowing that the element of surprise would make this the easiest kill he'd ever catch. At once, he latched onto the neck of the animal, tearing through flesh as he crunched down his victim, dealing the death blow before it could even cry out in agony.
He let the creature fall to the ground, its breathing shallow and heavy, but he wasn't finished with it yet. Chazz had grown up with Hyenas, and because he had once lived their monstrous ways, he'd vowed to change everything about himself, even the way he hunted. His eyes met with that of the prey, and an understanding seemed to pass between them, one that said, You have permission to eat me, and grow strong.
Chazz nodded once after that, silencing the prey once and for all with one more bite. Out of its misery, the male lion could finally turn to see what would either be a shocked or angry face of the Princess, "What were you saying about a hunting expert? Take a tip from someone who knows what they're doing: the first thing you want to do is check the wind."
He plopped down after that, beginning to tear into his meal with gusto. He paused after his first swallow though, bringing his forever unsheathed claws to his mane and brushing it out of his eyes, "Well, I suppose I couldn't have caught it so easily without that mistake of yours. If that were a group hunt, or an official one anyway, then your move would have been useful to the ones hiding in wait. So come on, there's plenty here."
((OOC: I had an idea. Simba comes over and is gonna be all pissed at Chazz but then he's like, "Well instead of being pissed at me, you should be proud of your daughter for making this kill." xD. Kiara could be all "WTF"))

Kiara kept her body lowered, she had not even thought about testing the wind. She was to preoccupied with just making a catch, she was to impulsive sometimes and that was her problem. Some saw it as careless, and others saw it as brave, Kiara just didn't see it at all. Still the slender lioness waited, letting her muscles shift under her thinner coat, her shoulder blades rolled as she shifted quietly, she was looking for something, a weakness ,something that would give her an advantage. She remembered her mother telling her and Koda one morning, and she felt proud that she even remembered, usually she was so focused she didn't think she just reacted. She flicked her gaze around to each one of them in turn, one caught her eye, he had grey hair on his muzzle, an old caribou would make an easier kill. Her ears flicked as she could hear the faintest sound of moving grass until it stopped, she suspected the other lion had walked away now. good. she thought, she didn't need any distractions right now.
Kiara waited, her body tensed as she felt the wind blow against her fur carrying it up to the caribou. Kiaras eyes widened as they were alert to her presence and without thinking she rushed out of hiding and raced towards the long legged animals. Even the old buck was quick, and they had started running just before she had even gave chase. Her heart fell as they pushed past her, and she stopped. Lowering her head, she had been so stupid as to forget about wind direction. It was lesson one in hunting and she had forgotten it, sitting back on her hunches she let her ears fall back onto her skull. Her eyes flicked over to the lion from before as he made a kill, out of her herd no less. It seemed like everyone could do it, except for her. She could see him make his way over to her and for once she just didn't want to hear it. "What were you saying about a hunting expert? Take a tip from someone who knows what they're doing: the first thing you want to do is check the wind."
Kiara lifted her eyes to him, her eyes deepened into a glare. "I know... I was just so caught up...nevermind." she knew he didn't care about what she thought, how she felt, all he cared about was himself. And now making her feel worse then she already did. "Well, I suppose I couldn't have caught it so easily without that mistake of yours. If that were a group hunt, or an official one anyway, then your move would have been useful to the ones hiding in wait. So come on, there's plenty here." Kiara's ears lifted from her head, she had that look of surprise on her face, he had in a way complemented her, no one had ever made one of her mistakes into an advantage before, Kiara smiled and got to her paws. She walked over to the lion, closing the gap between them and sitting down. It was a rather nice kill, though she would never admit it now. His ego was to large for proving her wrong, so instead she looked up at him. "Thanks. I don't know why but that made me feel better." she replied, turning to look down at the fallen caribou. She waited for him to take the first bite, it was his kill after all.[/blockquote] [/blockquote][/sub]

Chazz This Body's Left The Soul
Chazz blinked, "That made you feel better? There's a first." He rolled his eyes after that, his stomach taking over his urge to talk - not that it was a very large urge anyway, considering he wasn't terribly fond of Kiara - and he took a bite, tearing at the meat with gusto. It was sweet, the taste of blood, but he knew to savor every moment of it. It wasn't everyday he got a good kill like this, considering no one wanted to hunt with him. Since he'd used Kiara's mistake as an advantage, Chazz could finally fill his stomach fully, and there'd be plenty more even after that. The least he could do was share... even if it was with her.
"Kiara!" a voice called. Chazz didn't move though, already knowing that Simba was going to get here eventually. Instead, he licked blood off his claws, and gave a frustrated sigh. "Kiara, what did this lion do to you? I swear, if you put one claw of yours on her--"
Chazz cleared his throat, "Can you make this quick Sim-- oh sorry, King Simba? I was enjoying my meal that your daughter caught and offered to share, considering I haven't really eaten well in weeks thanks to you making me a social outcast. Hm, and everyone wonders why I'm so bitter...."
Simba fumed, a roar escaping his maw at the younger male's talking back. Chazz didn't move an inch though, unless you counted stretching his paws out in front of him to crack his shoulders. He was so calm, so nonchalant... Simba didn't intimidate him at all. Chazz figured that it was only going to be a certain amount of time until he was kicked out anyway, so he may as well show the stupid king that he wasn't perfect. Chazz wasn't going to forgive him so easily for banishing his two brothers.
"Get out of here," Simba snarled lowly. "I should have known better than to let scum like you back into my kingdom."
"Heh," Chazz responded, rolling his eyes and flipping over onto his back lazily. "Can't I at least finish my lunch? Your daughter worked so hard to catch it you know. Even I'm impressed, and considering nothing you've done in your time of ruling has gotten to me... it makes me wonder how your daughter got so talented, hm?"
Simba blinked, this time ignoring Chazz and turning to his daughter, "You made that kill? Kiara?"
"Oh yeah, exciting to watch too. She picked this guy out as the oldest and ran him down. The herd didn't know what hit 'em. Talent I say, real talent. She's gonna be fit to rule in no time, so you have nothing to worry about here," Chazz sneered. Simba just stared at his daughter, still dumbfounded. "Well then?"
"Congratulations Kiara!" Simba purred, butting his daughter's head. Chazz smirked after that, realizing his plan of distracting the king had worked pretty well in his favor. It was as if all his rude words had been forgotten, never said, and so he just watched the exchange between the two of them as he tore off another piece of flesh. "I'm going to go tell your mother. She'll be so proud of you."
He turned around after that, bounding away swiftly.
"Well, there ya go Princess, you got your freedom," he said bluntly. "And I got to insult your father. Seems like a good deal to me."

Kiara could see the disinterested look on his face and shrugged, though his response seemed pretty surprised by her words. She just didn't say anything even though she could see he was thinking somethings over in his mind. She decided to place her mind elsewhere at the moment and take in the scenery around her, one day she would be the best hunter around. One day they would see that she was just as skillful as Koda or even Nala, she wanted to prove her worth to her pride, even if it took a little longer than most. "Kiara!"
Kiara's ears perked a little as she turned to see the owner of the voice, though even without looking she knew it was that of her fathers. She had heard it so many times before that she would know it anywhere, and knew the different tones he used when he was with certain lions. Gentle when he was with Nala, proud when he was with Koda, wise with the others, and disappointed when he was around her. Kiara flicked her burnt gaze over to the large form of her father, Simba. She nodded to him once in greeting before him and Chazz got to arguing, though really she wasn't the least bit surprised by this. Chazz was to blunt for her father's taste in lion so she should expect a talk about him later when they were going to sleep. So she just allowed them to ramble on, she shook her head and let her ears lay flat against her skull in annoyance. She wasn't even paying that much attention to the words being said for awhile until one sentence caught her attention. Your daughter worked so hard to catch it you know." Kiara's eyes widened in shock, as she looked at both lions in turn, wait a minute she didn't do anything? Why was he saying these things? Probably to soften up Simba, but still she wasn't about to have her first "kill" be a lie, she would know that she didn't have the satisfaction of her first real kill, and faking one would make things worse. When he asked her if she made the kill, she parted her lips to speak when Chazz butted in. She really wished he would stop speaking for her, she wasn't some cub who didnt know any better. After Chazz had successfully buttered him up Simba, seemed pleased that she had done something right, maybe even relief in his voice. Still she sighed as he congratulated her and went to run off. She turned to Chazz as he spoke seeming rather pleased with himself. She shook her head "I still wouldn't get freedom, and I am not going to lie. Whats the point if I don't even feel proud of myself?" she got to her paws and ran off towards Simba, stopping him in his path, he seemed surprised but Kiara was calm. "It wasn't my kill, ok. He was just being polite." she said rather bluntly, wishing she had made the kill herself. Simba seemed, yet again, disappointed but nodded, glancing back at Chazz with narrowed eyes before walking back towards Pride Rock stopping once to say. "I appreciate your honesty Kiara." before he continued on his way. Kiara turned back towards Chazz, she needed to be able to do things on her own. "Will you teach me?" she asked, hoping he wouldn't call her weak and then walk off, she knew he could teach her somethings, maybe just pointers even.[/blockquote] [/blockquote][/sub]

Chazz This Body's Left The Soul
Chazz watched Kiara go trotting after her father, blinking in surprise. So, she wasn't going to just sit there and take praise? That was odd. Wasn't that what royalty was supposed to do? Whatever, he thought dully, letting the thought roll to the back of his head.
He continued to eat silently, his belly becoming contented and his mood better because of that. When Kiara actually came back, he wasn't exactly happy to see her, but he didn't seem to mind, which was an improvement already for a personality like him.
"Will you teach me?" she asked suddenly. Chazz started to cough after that, a piece of meat getting stuck in the wrong tube of his throat. It came as such a shock, that she was asking him of all the lions in the pride to be her teacher. When he finally caught his breath, he had a very perplexed look on his face, studying Kiara carefully, "What, does your father want me close by so he can keep an eye on me or something?" he asked. "Why ask me? I just treated you like crap. Besides, you're a princess. You can get whatever you want just by calling. You'd rather waste your time learning how to hunt?"
Chazz shook his head, his mane catching in the slight breeze before settling down into the shaggy pattern on his head, "Sure, whatever. Gives me something to do... I guess...." it was clear he was still slightly weirded out. "No point in doing so now though, since we've just eaten...." He looked passed Kiara, and towards the jagged peak of Pride Rock, "You must have it pretty nice up there.... You got your father and mother, and your siblings watching over you."
He paused, his eyes becoming cold as stone, though beneath them a clear sign of envy. Chazz hated to admit it... but he was jealous, not to mention angry at Simba and the King's family. He had no one left to rely on now... just himself thanks to his brothers betrayal of the Pridelanders....
And everyone wondered why Chazz was such a tense young male....
A sneer then made its way up to Chazz's ears, and he continued on bitterly, "Of course it just allows for more weakness. You care about anyone other than yourself, then you end up getting trampled to the dirt. You take one thing, and you lose another. Do you really think you have what it takes to actually see the cruelties in this world, Princess? Cuz you could just as easily lock yourself up in that big old rock and have a blissful life."
